Rantrantrant

I am SO sick of people using these arguments to try and justify eating animals:

1. Animals eat other animals in the wild
-Yes, for survival purposes. Some animals don’t have access to other resources and would otherwise starve without eating another species. Humans, on the other hand, have so many other options available to us, but still choose to kill innocent animals for food instead.

2. People have been consuming animals for thousands of years, why stop now?
-Some cultures have been sacrificing, raping, and enslaving other humans for thousands of years too… Does that make it okay?

3. It tastes good
-*Face-palm*

4. I just can’t live without (insert meat/dairy product here)
-Really? Are you sure about that? Let’s test it out

5. Meat is still going to be produced, even if I choose not to eat it. Why bother?
-As more and more individuals choose a meat-free lifestyle, some companies are noticing a decrease in demand for their animal products. Also, I feel bad for people who believe this because they clearly don’t believe that their actions make a difference when they do.

Most everybody has read an article or book, seen a documentary, news cast or even just a 2-minute long YouTube video regarding the health and moral benefits of living cruelty-free. It makes me sad that people can look past the horrors of this industry and not want to make a change to their lifestyle.

Healthy Mind/Healthy Body

The health of your mind is just as important as your body. Maintaining a positive state of mind will do wonders for your mood and your over-all health. Try things like…

  • Meditating
  • Practicing Yoga
  • Go for a walk
  • Take a long drive to clear your head
  • Go to your favorite spot just to think

Taking a break from your hectic schedule to just focus on yourself and the fact that you exist in a world with infinite possibilities. Breathe deeply and by mindful about the ways in which you interact with your environment.

Mindfulness: a mental state achieved by focusing one’s awareness on the present moment, while calmly acknowledging and accepting one’s feelings, thoughts, and bodily sensations, used as a therapeutic technique.

The Om is a mystic syllable, considered the most sacred mantra. It appears at the beginning and end of most Sanskrit recitations, prayers, and texts. It is used synonymously with inner peace and serenity.

Remember to take care of your mind, and the health of your body will follow. Namaste.
